Opinion: Proposition 25’s failure gives legislators opportunity to reform cash bail system

The Bruin Democrats has endorsed Proposition 25 yet warns voters to remain cautious. Club President Evan Farrar said, “risk assessments may be extremely problematic as they were spelled out in 25, but we have faith that risk assessments can be reformed to be less racially inequitable.”

UCLA Student Charged In Capitol Riot Took Inspiration From Online Extremist

Oona Flood, a member of the Bruin Democrats recalled that she had “felt threatened” in response to Christian Secor’s radical right wing views.

Bruin Democrats President, Evan Farrar told NPR how the “Bruin Republicans used to be a really honorable group”. The two clubs held annual debates, however Farrar felt that the club had experienced a “decline into retweeting alt-right conspiracy theories.”
